How did you originally get involved in the sport?
Coach Callard tried to poach me from the Gymnastics club when I was about 13. I competed for Team Bexley at the London Youth Games for him a few years in a row, but I wasn't ready to leave Gymnastics just yet. Fast forward to age 22 I had achieved my goals and was ready to lift!
What do you enjoy most about weightlifting?
The fact that it is a sport that focuses on what my body can do and not what it looks like. And the friendships I have made from being part of the weightlifting community.
What is the best competition you have competed in so far and why?
Would have to be the British Championships where I retained my title. I opened on a PB clean and jerk to take the win and also qualified my space on the worlds team 2019- very special moment.
What are your long-term sporting goals?
To continue to represent Great Britain and be selected to represent England at the Birmingham Commonwealth Games and maybe even medal.
What is your main motivation?
Personally I am drive to reach my goals e.g Commonwealth, but if I managed to inspire one person to pick up a Barbell that maybe wouldn't have then I am doing a good job.
